International Multigenre Festival-Competition "MUSIC OF CATALONIA"

The festival is held in Spain, on the famous Costa Brava coast. This festival is a true marathon of various forms of creativity and art. The International Festival-Competition "Music of Catalonia" is a cultural event showcasing creative achievements, where all participants and guests can shine with their art, talents, and skills.

Location: Barcelona, Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava

 

Goals and Objectives of the Festival-Competition:

  • To promote interaction among creative groups
  • To strengthen and develop international cultural relations
  • To encourage exchange of artistic experiences
  • To present the best achievements and popularize the cultural traditions of the participating countries
  • To introduce participants to the culture and art of Spain
  • To discover new talents

 

Festival-Competition Location:

The main square in front of the City Hall of Lloret de Mar. A huge open-air stage, professional sound and lighting, and an audience area for 1,000 spectators

 

FESTIVAL-COMPETITION CATEGORIES

Choreographic Art (groups, ensembles, soloists):

  • Folk dance
  • Stylized folk dance
  • Modern dance / jazz, jazz-modern, modern, contemporary, street dance (hip-hop, house dance)
  • Pop dance
  • Ballroom choreography
  • Classical choreography
  • Social dances (bachata, salsa, merengue, reggaeton, etc.)
  • Mixed styles

Vocal Art (choirs, duets, trios, quartets, soloists):

  • Pop vocals
  • Church choirs
  • Jazz vocals
  • Folk vocals (including folklore)
  • Choral groups in academic and folk style
  • Vocal ensembles in academic and folk style
  • Pop vocal ensembles

Instrumental Genre (pop, symphonic, string, chamber, folk instruments):

Theatrical Art: Musical theatres (musicals, ballet, opera), dance theatres, plastic and pantomime theatres, fashion theatres, experimental genres.

Circus Art: Floor gymnastics, acrobatics, balancing acts, clowning, original genres.

Participants:

 


AGE CATEGORIES

  • Junior – up to 9 years old
  • Middle – 10 to 13 years old
  • Senior – 14 to 16 years old
  • Youth – 17 to 22 years old
  • Adults – 23 years and older
  • Mixed groups

 

GROUP SIZE (for all categories)

  • Solo (1 participant)
  • Duet or pair (2 participants)
  • Small group (3–5 participants)
  • Formation or ensemble (6 or more participants)
  • Choir – from 10 people
  • Chamber orchestra

There is no limit to the number of participants in a group.

 

General Rules:

a) The Organizing Committee may adjust age categories depending on applications received.
b) The order of performances is determined by the Organizing Committee.
c) The exact age of solo performers is determined at the time of the competition.
d) Age groups are based on the average age of participants (a deviation of up to 30% is allowed).
e) Group leaders are fully responsible for their members during festival activities and free time.
f) The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use audio/video recordings, printed and other materials produced during the festival.

 

Technical Requirements:

Soundtracks must be sent to the Organizing Committee in advance. It is also recommended to bring the tracks on multiple USB flash drives (mp3 format) in high sound quality.

Each file must be labeled with the name of the group (or the soloist’s last name) and the title of the composition.

The group leader is responsible for the quality and safety of the soundtracks.

 

All participants will receive internationally recognized diplomas.

Group leaders and sponsors will receive official letters of appreciation from the Organizing Committee.

 

AWARDS AND WINNER SELECTION

A point-based evaluation system will be used — regardless of the number of participants in any category, each will be judged by the jury solely on the quality of performance. Duplicate prizes are allowed if the scores are the same.

 

FESTIVAL JURY

The composition of the international jury is determined by the Organizing Committee. The jury evaluates the performances in a closed vote using a 10-point system, where the main criterion is artistic and technical excellence.

  3. Receive confirmation from the project coordinator
  4. Make a prepayment

 

Participation fee: €197.50
Festival fee: €25 (for groups with more than 25 people)
